The General Itinerary
Day 1 and 2 - Quito
On arrival in Quito you will be met by our local agent and driven to the Casa Gangotena - a newly-restored historic mansion overlooking Plaza San Francisco for your two night stay.
The hotel occupies a corner of Plaza San Francisco, whose history stretches back to the time of the Incas and offers fantastic views of the Panecillo hillside, the cosy characteristic inner courtyard.
On your second day there will be an opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of this historic city with a gentle guided tour, taking in Quito’s colonial quarter, the Presidential Palace and a visit to the temple of La Compania de Jesus, with its wonderfully gilded interior. The tour will end at a lookout point with a great view of Quito, so don’t forget your cameras!
On returning to the hotel we shall take you out to a “gem of a find” so you can get to know each other and your hosts, before departing the Galapagos Islands themselves.
Day 3 - Quito/Galapagos
After breakfast at the hotel you will be driven to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos to join the yacht La Pinta for the eight day/seven night cruise around the islands.
Baltra Island
On arrival at Baltra Island you will be driven to the dock to board your home for the next week – Yacht La Pinta – for lunch
and the start of your Galapagos adventure.
North Seymour Island - Dry landing
Disembark for a walk along the coast and the interior of the island, observing bird colonies of blue footed boobies, frigate birds, swallow tailed gulls and also sea lions and marine iguanas. There will be an opportunity for snorkelling before an evening talk, welcome cocktail followed by dinner.
Notes on Landing Information:
Dry landing: guests step from the dinghy onto rocks or a dock. Wet landing: as the dinghy edges onto a sandy beach, guests step in knee deep water and wade ashore.
